Counseling and Wellness Group Co-founders (Libby McHugh, Stephanie McDonald, and Vicki Riola) opened CWG in 2017 after feeling as if clients needed more than what traditional mental health systems could offer. CWG’s foundational belief is that effective therapy is client-centered and relies on current evidence-based research in order to treat the whole client. It is clinically impossible to separate or silo parts of the whole person. The Co-Founders want to see outcomes…to create space to allow people to improve in a way that feels best for them, in their lives and on their terms. Client care starts with the client, is collaborative and builds upon what motivates behavioral change.
CWG clinicians appreciate that therapy is messy. It can be intimidating and the experience of being vulnerable can feel really overwhelming. CWG is designed to feel cozy and informal. There is no power differential between client and therapist. Additionally, clients are the experts around who they are and their own journey to therapy. CWG has crafted an inviting space to allow clients to embark on therapeutic journey alongside their therapist. We ask all clients to come as you are.
