Meet Ellen

Ellen Patton, LPCC, is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and received her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University and her Bachelor’s in Individual and Family Studies from Kent State University. Ellen is pursuing EMDR certification through the Institute of Creative Mindfulness, while also drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness.

Ellen joined the Counseling and Wellness Group team after working with individuals struggling with addiction in Louisiana. Prior to entering the field of mental health, Ellen worked in school settings with individuals diagnosed with neurodivergent diagnoses, including ADHD and autism spectrum disorders. The collective experience of supporting families and children has given Ellen a deep appreciation for the challenges a family experiences while raising a child with special needs, as well as an interest in working with young adults and adult clients with neurodivergent diagnoses. Ellen is also trained in perinatal mental health and enjoys working with mothers of all backgrounds.

Ellen honors the inherent difficulty within the change process and is able to hold space for clients who are courageous enough to explore their lives and work on developing healthy emotions, cognitions, and boundaries. Ellen is comfortable with matters of the heart, mind, and soul, and encourages her clients to consider mindful practices alongside traditional therapies.
